Why are guests required to go through the verification process again for repeat bookings, even if they were previously approved or manually verified?

Guests are required to go through the verification process for each booking, including repeat bookings, for several important reasons:

  • Current Risk Assessment: Autohost conducts a fresh risk assessment for each booking to ensure that the evaluation is always up-to-date. This helps safeguard against any changes in the guest's circumstances since their last booking.
  • Security and Integrity: The reverification process maintains the security and integrity of the booking system, ensuring that all guests meet the current criteria for approval.
  • Customization Options: While reverification is the default process, Autohost has introduced a feature that allows hosts to customize the screens for returning guests. This can help streamline the process for verified guests in future bookings.
  • Manual Approval Option: For hosts who prefer not to have guests go through the portal again, there is an option to manually approve reservations.
  • Integration with SuperHog: For properties using the SuperHog integration, ID verification is required for each reservation. This is a minimum requirement set by SuperHog to qualify for their damage guarantee program.

It's important to note that while Autohost does not recommend creating an automatic approval process even for repeat guests, they have introduced flexibility in the system to balance security with user experience.
