Guests may still be seeing old House Rules after updates have been submitted due to the way Autohost handles house rules at different levels. Here's what you need to know:
- Two levels of House Rules:
- Autohost allows for both global house rules and listing-specific house rules.
- Global rules are set in the Guest Portal under the House Rules section.
- Listing-specific rules are set within each individual listing's House Rules tab.
- Rule Hierarchy:
- When a listing-level house rule is configured, it takes precedence over the global settings.
- If a listing has its own rules, these will be displayed instead of the global rules.
- Checking and Updating Rules:
- To update global rules:
- Navigate to the Guest Portal
- Access the House Rules section
- To check or update listing-specific rules:
- Go to the specific listing in your Autohost dashboard
- Select the House Rules tab
- Update or remove listing-level rules as needed
- To update global rules:
- Why Updates May Not Appear:
- If you've updated global rules but they're not showing:
- Check if the listing has its own specific rules. If listing-specific rules exist, they will override global rules
- If you've updated global rules but they're not showing:
Remember, changes to house rules may not apply retroactively to existing reservations, depending on your settings. Always test changes with a new reservation or listing view to confirm they're displaying as intended.
