Why is Autohost unable to send an SMS to a specific telephone number?

Autohost may be unable to send an SMS to a specific telephone number for the following reasons:

  1. The number is a landline:
    • Autohost's SMS service is designed to send messages to mobile phone numbers.
    • If a guest provides a landline number, the system will not be able to send an SMS.

  2. Invalid phone number format:
    • The phone number must be in a valid international format, including the country code.
    • Ensure that the number doesn't contain any special characters or spaces.
  3. Restricted number:
    • Some phone numbers may be restricted from receiving SMS messages due to carrier restrictions or user settings.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Verify the phone number:
    • Check if the provided number is a mobile number and not a landline.
    • Ensure the number is in the correct international format.
  2. Request an alternative number:
    • If the guest has provided a landline number, ask them for a mobile number instead.
  3. Use alternative communication methods:
    • If SMS delivery is not possible, consider using email or other messaging platforms to communicate with the guest.

Note: Always ensure that you have the guest's consent to communicate via the provided contact methods and comply with relevant data protection regulations.
